Have you ever wanted to know what goes on in the Pathology Department? Well.... now you local Pathology Department is opening it's doors so you can come and find out.

Our educational tours will feature different themes over the course of this year and include:

March & April	Diabetes
May & June	Toxicology
July & August	Histopathology
September & October	Microbiology
November & December	Immunology

Who are the tours for?

Well....anyone who is interested in finding out more about the pathology department. For example:

• Students who are wondering about a career in a hospital laboratory
• Health care workers who use pathology services and would like to know more about what goes on
• Patients who want to find out more about the way the pathology laboratories support their care.
• Members of the public who are just interested to see what goes on.

What happens on the tour?

After an introduction to the laboratory and a short safety talk your tour will begin. Members of our team will take you on a tour of the relevant part of the pathology department giving you an incite into the "topic of the month".

Can I come on more than one tour?

Of course you can. We have 6th form College students who are interested in coming on all the tours to help with portfolio work and others who are seeking to work in laboratories who attend the tours to help with gaining wider experience that they can put on their CV.
